10.3.15-14.3.15 Class 3.2 and homework

10.3.15-14.3.15
Critique, Making

Class 3.2
In this lesson we had a class critique, overall my critique was:

-That my bucket fountain pieces (in both styles) are my strongest works, and thus i should be trying to get my other pieces up to that same standard
-My tripods are the weakest and are a bit plain, and i should really emphasise the flame by using it in a lot of the space in the same way that the water splatter in the bucket fountain piece uses a lot of the compositional space.
-In order to emphasise the element for the tripod i can make it look like it is burning the composition/paper itself (which i could try this on my wind pieces)
-My wind piece looks like it is in another set completely and thus i should present it in a way that it matches with the style of my other pieces

I started working on further developing my tripod in class and then finishing it off after class and this is what i resulted in, which i believe deals with the aspects i received as feedback and is thus a lot stronger than my previous tripod pieces:

I then started working on developing my wind element sculpture through out the week, which is more difficult to visualise than fire or water as you can feel wind rather than see it. So i have tried to experiment with a few ways of creating a successful and visually appealing composition which still addresses and represents the element of wind which is such a common occurrence in Wellington;
